The design of your new home begins at our very first meeting. You have probably already given considerable thought to the design of your new home. You may even have a good idea of the layout, size and style that best suits your needs. Some customers provide pictures or sketches to better illustrate their ideas. We always begin with your ideas and base all our decisions around making your dreams a reality.

If you are having trouble deciding what features you'd like in your new home, try our printable "Getting Started Worksheet". This can help you separate your "needs" from your "wants" and provide a good starting point for the design process.

After our initial discussions about the design of the home itself, we move on to choosing a lot. We closely examine the potential building site to make sure your original ideas are a good match for the lot you selected. Then, our in-house architectural designer will draw up a preliminary floor plan.

Our staff will meet with you to discuss your thoughts on this preliminary plan and make revisions as you see fit. This could take several meetings, but our main objective is to ensure that you are completely happy with the end result.

Once we have your final approval on the floor plan, we will create a set of plans that include exterior elevations in addition to the floor plan. You are now ready to complete your specifications book!
